The owner of the Winston Group, William Croft, is no stranger to the manufacturing and marketing of hot air welders. From 1980 until 1999, he managed the Clements National Company and sold under the Cadillac Brand a variety of hot air welders into the roofing, Civil engineering and Industrial fabrics markets. Cadillac produced hot air welders, wedge welders and extrusion welders for the roofing, geomembrane and industrial fabrics market.
• Cadillac products in 1987 designed and developed the first hot air welder that utilized and closed loop temperature control system. This pre-dates the Varimat. https://patents.justia.com/patent/4855004
• We also instructed Carlise how to heat weld their new TPO membrane. We went to their centers in Pittsburg, Carlise, Dallas, Pittsburg & Toronto
• We also instructed and trained GAF personnel how to weld their TPO as well.
• We also worked very close with Firestone and Genflex companies
• In 2007 the Clements National Company sold the hot air tool business to the Winston Group

• We were the first to use a “digi-key” device to control temperature. My competition copied me with the V2
• We use the name Winston Group. My competition again copied us and added Group to their name
• We added a LED light to illuminate the welding area on our new welder. Again, our competition copied us
